The daughter of Charon Narukami. Ai is the result of a short lived romance between Charon and Acheron. Ai was born in Acheron, but being half spirit, she was in danger of being tainted by the Shadows. Since her mother was a Deity, she was able to resist, however, she was not a trained warrior. Her father found her while she fended for herself and took her in. He was not aware of his daughters existence.
Acheron didn't care about her daughters well being since she was not fully a God as herself and let Charon take her. After a while, Charon taught Ai how to protect herself and how to ferry souls from the Living Realm into Hell. Having learned most of what she can, Ai has found interest in the happenings of the spirit realm and journeys there on many occasions to enjoy the simple things people do.
Her father warned her that should she trifle in human affairs too often, she would become a tainted soul and would need to be purified in Acheron, even against her wishes. Ai barely heeds her fathers warnings and continues to enter the living realm.
